Getting new art supplies can be an instant inspiration

Watercolor Palette

This is my wheel of colors- a special treat when it came in the mail . It is quite large and at first I didn’t think I would be able to fill all of the wells. But over time and one by one I will add a new color. These are specific for watercolors and each well holds plenty of paint.

I purchased this from a company called Robax, and because I have so many people ask where I got this, here is a link to their website, www.robax.com. No affiliate here, just something I love. The palettes come in different sizes so that you can chose what works best for you.

Neo-Colors

Neo- Colors are water soluble wax crayons made by a company called Caran d’ Ache. They come in an array of colors and you can purchase in different size sets. So whether I am creating a watercolor painting or one with mixed media, these crayons are always at the ready. The best part is that they are water soluble, where you can add as much or as little water as you want or just use them dry to get the desired effect. These are a staple in my stash. Here’s a link to them on Amazon, again no affiliate, I just love them.

Stabilo All Pencil

Now this might look like just a pencil, but let me tell you, this little “pencil” carries a big punch. Again, the magic in this pencil is that it is water soluble. I love it in my mixed media pieces. Dip your pencil in water and make really dark marks or you can draw with it dry and wet afterwards. Either way this pencil is super versatile. Here is a link to Dick Blick if you’d like to try it out. Make sure you get the # 8046 pencil, there are lots of choices out there and the price was reasonable.

So those are my 3 fav’s - but I have to admit I’m a bit of an art supply junkie so don’t be surprised if you find me posting about my next 3 fav’s soon!

Do you have a favorite supply? Please share, I would love to try it out!!
